This wall clock was designed by Mallet-Stevens for most of the Villa Cavrois rooms. This Villa was sponsored in 1929 by Paul Cavrois, an industrialist settled in Lille (north of France).
Simple in its design, perfectly legible, it measures 22 cm in diameter and 5 cm height. It can be hung on any wall. Its weight is 1,2 kg.
It is composed of a single-shaped metal shell and each stylized Roman numeral has been inserted by hand all around the dial. It works thanks to an electronic mechanism of German quality (battery provided).
It’s an artisanal production, made in short series by a workshop in Lyon (center of France). Each copy is laser cut on the inside with the initials “RMS” and has a serial number. A nominal authenticity certficate is issued.
